The tailoring on Ann Demeulemeester’s AW19 runway took an androgynous turn. It was all in homage to artists like James Lee Byars who were part of Antwerp’s art scene back in the 70s (that explains the top hats, too). These wool and cotton blend trousers follow the decade’s rebellious cues in a slim fit that sits high on the hips and crops at the ankles. True to the brand’s avant garde approach, they’re finished with a contrasting raw cut panel at the hems.
