product description
Jil Sander, tote bag in black full grain calfskin, with an extremely versatile and functional design. It is very spacious and lends itself to different uses: it can be considered a roomy shoulder bag (for shopping) or a work bag (to contain documents and folders) and also a travel bag (perhaps for 1-2 day trips, in fact it also included a label holder, again in leather, where you can insert your name and address). The padlock closing system (complete with 2 keys) allows you to block the opening of the zip. The bag is used (signs of wear on the corners) but in good condition: the leather is not scratched, the handles are intact and the bottom is not worn. Inside it has a 23 cm long zipped pocket. The dimensions (measured externally) are: the base is 37 cm wide and 15 cm deep; the height of the bag (excluding handles) is 41 cm and the width of the bag (between the two side seams) is 52 cm. Also not to be underestimated is the capacity of the two large external pockets closed with buckles bearing the brand name.
about JIL SANDER
Founded in 1968, the company went public in 1989. In 1999 Prada Group bought a 75% share in the company. Six months later, Sander departed the company, and it suffered serious financial setbacks. She returned briefly in 2003.
In 2006, private equity firm Change Capital Partners LLP (CCP) bought the company from Prada. At that point, the Telegraph reported that the company was in better shape financially. Prada CEO Patrizio Bertelli said: "As we focus on the development of the Prada and Miu Miu brands, I am certain that Change Capital Partners will be able to provide the necessary investment to further grow the Jil Sander business." Raf Simons remained creative director at Jil Sander.
In September 2008, the Jil Sander brand was purchased by Onward Holdings Co. Ltd (TYO: 8016), a Japanese multi-brand fashion conglomerate, and its European subsidiary GIBO' CO. S.p.A. for about US $244 million.
